I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. I received my PhD in political science from the University of Rochester in 2014.
I study the political economy of conflict and diplomacy. My research focuses on how states construct order and maintain power, in both the international system and the process of building the state itself. I am also interested in how states use diplomatic communication to advance their aims—and the incentive problems that may impede credible information transmission.
